There's a website, and I'd like to be notified when a certain part of it changes. Anyone recommend any software/service for that? I wanna select an โ€œelementโ€ (HTML element?) on a page and get โ€œnotifiedโ€ (email?) when it changes.

Searching the web brings up many such companies that do this, obv. they charge, and are aimed at โ€œmonitor your business competitorsโ€. Which is a fine & legit business model. Any suggestions from yous, my internet peeps?

This is amazing:

1. a developer of a bunch of popular #npm packages publishes new, intentionally broken versions of them as he doesn't want to support for-profit companies with his free work;
2. NPM *reverts* the packages to older versions against developer's wishes;
3. GitHub *blocks* the developer for acting "irresponsibly".

That story again: developer blocked by #Microsoft #GitHub for making changes to his own code.

This is why #AGPL and @forgefriends are so important!

Note to self: When writing bash scripts, and you want to store the path to a file, *don't* name that variable `PATH`... ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Hey the wordle guy sounds cool.

"I am a bit suspicious of mobile apps that demand your attention and send you push notifications to get more of your attention," he said.

"There are also no ads and I am not doing anything with your data, and that is also quite deliberate."

Asked whether he planned to make money from it, he said: "I don't understand why something can't just be fun. I don't have to charge people money for this and ideally would like to keep it that way."

OK the PostgreSQL support for JSON (i.e. `json_agg(โ€ฆ)` & `json_build_object(โ€ฆ)`) is actually pretty easy to use and cool. Slightly smiling face

I thought I'd be clever by making my new site generator work off SQL queries. It has many advantages, but I'm getting annoyed and frustrated with having to fit everythign into simple SQL output (rows of simple columns). ๐Ÿ˜–

I currently give out free stickers. This could be called โ€œswagโ€, but I've been calling it โ€œPromotional Materialโ€, which is too long for an email address ๐Ÿ˜… โ€œProMatโ€? ๐Ÿค”

Any good alternatives to the word โ€œswagโ€?

Orgs/corps/events often give out branded things, and call it that. But, is there an alternative term that's less... childish and silly? โ€œmerchโ€ is similar by sounds too commerical (and implies payment is required).

Any ideas?
