We used #Zoom & that worked really well, but is a car crash of privacy. #Skype seem alright. #Jitsi is, IME, unfortunately pretty technically rubbish, and lacks mod abilities

Then again, I do use, and love, #Pinboard for hosting bookmarks, and that's not #FLOSS. 🤔 Maybe cause I'm confident that won't be shut down, or sold, or stuffed full of adverts.

There's lots of discussion software out there. I wonder has anyone made one that can operate as a mailing list too? Where there's an email interface? (as well as a standard web/ActivityPub interface?)

I think that's the only way to move some #FLOSS communities off mailing lists, you'd have to ensure fans of mailing lists can still participate...

Thought: Often people point to old skool mailing lists as a thing that hinders #diversity in #FLOSS, that they are toxic.

*But* the same people often use & promote #Twitter. Isn't there much much more horrible abuse on Twitter? Is that a contraditiction? Is there something that makes twitter less exclusionary for marginalized people?

I don't think there's a free/open source #photo editor app for #Android, right?

I wanna crop or rotate photos, strip/truncate metadata, adjust colours/levels, create simple collages, auto white balance, etc. I don't think this exists as #FLOSS... 😔

"Be nice/welcoming/friendly" is decent advice in general, and many #FLOSS #tech communities have a history of being (too) combatative (to put it mildly!)

Can that rule work with "professional"/corporates/capitalism? How can it work?

Proper #CodeOfConduct (for #FLOSS) projects often explicitly allow criticism of institutial racism/sexism/etc.

I wonder: Would it be good to explicitly allow criticism of (neo-liberal) #capitalism?

Any recommendations for a #Usenet reader for #Android? pref. #FLOSS. I want to read the #gmane interface to mailing lists on the go. (so actually reading text, not downloading binaries 🙂)

What's the best #OpenSource #Android #keyboard to use? I've used SwiftKey for years and I'm really happy with it, but if there is a comparable #FLOSS one, I'd switch to that
