So that's a new one. updatedb (on ) is an annoying PITA that I've never needed and slows down performance.
But this is the first time it's caused my disk to fill up. Can you guess why?

What #distro? I have never had any issues with #updatedb, whether performance or space related, in the last 23 years of using #Linux. Could your problem be coming from somewhere else?

@61 Ubuntu. A problem is that I have one mounted directory with lots and lots of files, and / is on a smaller disk. And when updatedb tries to sort the file list.... And uses files for intermediate steps... πŸ˜‰
